Understanding Text Complexity | Developing Text-Dependent Questions and Tasks

This session develops participants’ abilities to identify and analyze complex texts, develop appropriate text-dependent questions and writing tasks, and sequence text-dependent questions and tasks to best scaffold student learning. Participants will understand how to assess a text’s complexity (both quantitative and qualitative measures); develop an understanding of text-based questions and effective question sequences; and develop question sequences for complex texts and have an opportunity for feedback on and revision of their development.
